Are you ready for some football?

This is so fun!  Joseph is playing football this fall for Calvary.  Yes, it is intramural.  Yes, it is flag football.  Yes, each of the three teams is coached by volunteer dads.  But he is loving it!  And the best part in my opinion – Brad is his coach.  And I do believe he is loving it, too.

I’m excited about how well they are both doing with this.  It gives them some time together while teaching Joe the basics of the game.  And let’s not forget the value of giving dad a little football fix and a chance to battle the sin of pride.  Growing up with a football coach father himself, both Brad and his brother were stars of their High School teams and then went on to play college ball.  Brad has a healthy love for the game and this is nice transition into it for our oldest son.

I hope they both continue to love it and learn from it.  And it doesn’t hurt that they are 2-0 (although technically they don’t keep track, yeah right!).

  2. I love seeing the pictures of Brad coaching Joseph. Guys take this sports thing so seriously; a bonding experience. Brad, Central won the Bell back this past Friday, in Brawley. 7,000 people watched.
