Snow… in Georgia… Really!

Last Friday it snowed here!  In fact, it snowed in 49 of the 50 states.  Sorry, Hawaii.  For much of the country, this is not a happy thing.  I realize that many are snowed in and sick of the white stuff, but for us, it was a miracle.  And a treat!

Now don’t get me wrong.  I do not have any desire to live where I have to spend 30 minutes every morning bundling my kids or shovel a driveway or even preheat my car.  But every once in a while, it is special to see the wonder of a winter palette.  To witness the trees dripping with just enough white to make them beautiful but not threaten their strength.  And to smile at children desperately trying to create snowmen, even when they are as much grass and dirt as powder.

Jacob said it well.  “Mom, there might be enough snow today for us to make snow angels and not get our backs muddy.”  Not quite, but close.

Here’s our brief winter adventure…

  1. Looks like the kids had a great time with the snow! Joseph and Jacob called to tell us how excited they were that it was snowing. It is so pretty; you did get a lot of snow!
