Sunday Lunch

As a special “Daddy’s not in town, it’s raining outside, and Mommy can’t handle going straight to the apartment after church” treat, we all ventured to the kids’ favorite eating spot, IHOP, for lunch today.  The kids menu item that Arabella & Abraham wanted was simply titled Funny Face.  I soon discovered why there was no description as there are surely no self respecting parents who would allow it to masquerade as a meal if there had been. Little did I know that it was a plate-sized chocolate pancake loaded with chocolate chips and topped with powdered sugar & whipped cream.

The extra sugar in the form of syrup poured on top as well as the chocolate milk dreamily devoured may explain why Abraham didn’t take a nap this afternoon and currently looks like this…

Perhaps it wasn’t my wisest decision.

  1. Funny face. … what a deceptive name! Holy cow! 🙂

  2. LOL! I only let Andrew order the Create a Face, which is at least topped with strawberries and bananas in addition to a small dollop of whip cream. I bet that’s a mistake you don’t make twice! ;0)

  3. IHOP is Brooklyn’s favorite place too…she wanted it for her birthday dinner last week, she got the “funny face” then they sang “Happy Birthday” and brought her another with ice cream! Sounds like they had a great time though, and that’s all that matters!

  4. That was my favorite breakfast growing up. We would go after church and me and my brother would order this. Thanks for bringing back some fun memories.
